01

Servicing

Servicing on your vehicle ensures critical checks are carried out on brakes, suspension, tyres, and steering - potentially catching any issues before it may be a problem

A well serviced car with regular oil changes and air filters replaced can help maintain engine performance

Ignoring service intervals can lead to major engine or transmission damage, which is expensive to repair. Catching any issues quickly can help prevent a large bill

04

Timing Belts

Changing the Timing Belt on your Car is critical to

maintaining the health of the engine.

When the Timing Belt needs changed varies

depending on the make and age of your vehicle.

The timing belt coordinates the rotation of the crankshaft and camshaft, making sure the engine’s valves and pistons operate in sync. If the belt fails the piston can strike the valves leading to severe engine damage that may require a complete rebuild or even full engine replacement.

02

Clutches

Simple Tips to Look After Your Clutch:

  • Don’t ride the clutch (resting your foot on the pedal).

  • Avoid unnecessary clutch slipping, especially on hills.

  • Use the handbrake on inclines, not the clutch to hold your position.

  • Don’t hold the clutch down at traffic lights – shift to neutral instead.

If you're noticing any slipping, burning smells, or difficulty shifting, it's worth getting your clutch checked sooner rather than later.

05

Air Conditioning

Did you know that Car Manufacturers recommend your Air Conditioning to be serviced every 2 years?

Did you know this is not part of your MOT or Re-Charged automatically during a Service?

Here The Car Doctor can use specialist equipment to test for leaks before starting the re-gas process.

Maintaining your Air Conditioning System keeps you driving in comfort at the perfect temperature - ALL YEAR ROUND

03

Tyres

Reasons to look after your vehicle Tyres:

Safety : Worn or Underinflated tyres reduces grip, especially in wet weather conditions, causing a higher chance to skid

Better Fuel Efficiency : Properly inflated and aligned tyres reduce rolling resistance, helping your engine work more efficiently

Improved Handling : Good tyres give you better steering response, braking, and overall control of the vehicle

06

Pre MOT Checks & MOT's

The MOT tests some important items on your vehicle to check that they meet the legal standards.

It isn’t the same as having your vehicle serviced and doesn’t check its general mechanical condition.

The test doesn’t cover the condition of the:

  • engine

  • clutch

  • gearbox

We can carry out Pre-MOT checks here on site or organise to have your car MOT'd by us at a local MOT centre.
