Statistics tell us that over 97% of websites have detectable accessibility issues. Unfortunately, DR Lockhart's is probably one of them — and we’re not happy with that. We would like everyone to be able to access our website equally.

We could attempt to plug the gap with a widget (sometimes referred to as “overlays”) — lots of websites do — but we’d rather get things right from the ground up. We’re also mindful that many disabled people don’t like these tools.

We’ve done a lot to make this website more accessible, taking into account issues like visual contrast, font size, clear and simple language, clear navigation, and alt text on images. But there’s more ground to cover.

We’re currently auditing our website for WCAG 2.1 compliance. Where we find issues, we’ll work hard to fix these wherever we can. If we can’t, we’ll let you know why, and try to help you access the information another way. Please bear in mind that DR Lockhart Motor Engineer is a small business with limited funds — which means that we can’t realistically deliver the same website accessibility measures you might expect from a larger business, charity or public sector body (much as we want to).
